Join Justyn and Koreen & special guests for a one day retreat honoring the dark winter within. As we struggle to embrace the deep winter in nature, how is this a reflection of the struggle with the darkness within?

What is darkness and why do we moralize it when we spend half our life in night? When Creativity and dreams come from the places of the unknown or unseen. Seeds germinate in the dark, our mothers wombs were dark and the universe is mostly dark. What is unknown we call darkness. But is that “bad?” Let explore yoga & wellness thru a new lens that embraces this winter cycles with long nights.

Let's embrace the yin of the season, by gathering and practicing and getting cozy in a group.

We will start the day by warming up our body-mind-spirit connection with a hour long yoga practice with Justyn of the seeker Yoga School. This teacher is known for her ability to bring the philosophical yoga wisdom into her classes that speak to the soul and heart of the traditions.

We will move into discussions and lectures over tea and warm winter foods. (Justyn is a guide who brings groups to India to study yoga and the Goddesses. Her teachings around Kali Ma go deep. While teacher Koreen is a student of the Mother Goddess in all her forms, from every corner of the earth and many spiritual traditions as well. Ideas around the Dark Goddess will be explored.

We feed our souls with getting creative with a little guided art and mini vision boards, that Artist Jodee Shumar will help us create, alongside about 50 years of her art as her gallery will be on display at the A-Mill Art lofts, where we are gathering.

We feed will feed our hearts by connecting to each other in this group with authentic relating practices.

The end of our day together will be capped with an Earth Goddess Breathwork concert & Conscious movement with Koreen. We are going to free up stuck emotions and become more “bodyful.” …. where we give ourselves permission to feel radical acceptance for the parts of us we judged as bad (or dark) vs good. Take stock of and love the things that are naturally dark in us that we have moralized. Night is not bad as we have as a culture made Synonymous with not just the unknown that we cannot see but with fearing the unknown, fear itself, evil, bad etc.

We will seal the day with a giant GONG BATH by Meridith, Kundalini teacher.

Intentions:

Drop Judgment and move into the freedom that comes from embracing all the parts of our soul.

Feel good in our bodies and connected with self and community.
