Women's Ecstatic Dance, Full Moon Circle

  • Open Minds Fusion Studio 315 Southeast Main Street Minneapolis, MN, 55414 United States (map)

Circle up with us and set your intentions under the energy of the full moon.

On Friday, Nov 15 we have a special co-host, Laurel Armstrong who will open our circle with Primal Voice practices that can be woven into our dance, at your desire.

Experience the rapture of movement, the power of release in your body & voice. Sweat, Pray, Play... using your whole body to cast your spells for peace. Be free to be you! Dance your ecstasy, your sorrows, your anxieties and your bliss. Be sexy as you wanna be. Or just come for the fun!

Embody your intentions in a safe space for all women & non binary folx.

This dynamic movement and voice practice—a practice of being in your body—that ignites creativity, connection, and community. No experience needed. Only the desire to connect, and reclaim your freedom to follow your bliss.

Ecstatic dance is a form of dance in which the dancers, without the need to follow specific steps, release themselves to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes them, leading to trance and a feeling of ecstasy.

🎧DJ Guide Earth G Koreen will offer occasional guidance and prompts to help you go deeper into moving meditation. And also it's just plain ol' fun! dance as sexy as you wanna be. Play with how postures and poses and how your unique energy flows.

🫦More on Primal Voice practices, out opening practice with Laurel Armstrong:

"Before our species spoke, we sang. Singing is one of the most ancient human technologies for healing, connecting, and alchemizing pain into beauty. (And it has nothing to do with how "good" your voice is.) Remembering and re-learning the primal roots of singing can help us connect back to ourselves, our communities, and the land itself.

When feeling the supportive chorus of other voices, sometimes trapped emotions can emerge in us that may surprise us. Care is always given to where the group is at by listening for what may unexpectedly emerge while holding to a solid structure of support. New avenues for play and connection are also often discovered as part of this process.

In Primal Singing there is no ideal to meet, just your own voice to explore, express, and connect with. We start by grounding into supported breathing and subtle pleasure, then practice some basic vocalizations that help us access our voices in a healthy way. Then we gently explore different sounds and intentions over a drone. Options are given for whatever level of exploration you feel comfortable with or need that day."

Here, in the low lit dance studio, we move our emotions, release and invite in what serves us best. Embody your sprit with us!
