Rewilding the Primal Voice: Soul, lineage, and land.
A workshop to connect to your voice, your rage, your erotic expression and primal song.
Before humans spoke, we sang. This powerful, primal connection to our soul, our lineages and lands has been muted by modern culture, but not erased. Come remember your wildness and power through one of the most ancient of human technologies: your voice.
With 2 epic voice coaches and songstresses, you will discover just how versatile an instrument you have as you learn techniques and practices to express what is often deeper than words. We will move, sing, grieve, rage, play, and connect through our voices. The workshop will start with a grounding embodiment session of Earth Goddess Yoga led by Koreen.
We’ll then tune into our voices and breath, connecting to the pleasure of making sound, and practice some simple vocal techniques. Natalie Nowitsky, an expert on dozens of musical folk traditions from around the world, will teach us how to use our voice to connect with our environment and ancestral traditions, and how to vocally release grief. Laurel Armstrong will complete the workshop with group practices in Primal Singing where we will use our voice to support and be supported by the larger community. Topics covered includes Primal Erotic Expression as well as uncovering how the voice is stifled and throat chakra can be blocked. Know the power of release through voice. What to expect: circle of voices, no need to know how to sing, just a desire to express, process emotion with voice, and enjoy the power and beauty of a chorus of voices, in all their unique glory. Feel your powerful primal self, throat chakra unlocked, rediscover or ease into feeling confident in your voice. .
There will be a break with provided tea, snacks, and discussion. Feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks to share. Join us and discover the power of your voice, re-wild its expression, and experience your primal and communal belonging.
