Dancer Body - Stretch Class Kickoff

This encouraging warm class is for ALL levels, whether you're a dancer, an aerialist, a yogi, a bus driver or stay at home Mom...EVERYONE can benefit from this class for a Flexible AND strong body! Life just gets easier when you can reach a little higher or carry all those groceries up the stairs without hurting yourself.

Dancers Body - Stretch Class is designed to help increase flexibility via PNF stretching while using breath to re-hydrate the connective tissue associated with the muscle group being stretched. This class provides movement, strengthening and works on flexibility to lengthen and elongate your body.

PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) Stretching is the fastest and most effective way known to increase static-passive flexibility. This is a technique of combining passive stretching and isometric stretching in order to achieve maximum static flexibility.

For example, we may work on one specific muscle group at a time, using techniques to contract and release that particular muscle group in cycles that will condition and stretch said area to allow you to gradually get deeper and deeper in that stretch as each cycle repeats.

This class will be offered on Monday mornings at 730 AM. No shoes necessary, however we start off class with some gently and easy dancing movements. Yoga mats will be used, which we do have at OMFS but feel free to bring your own.
